What economic development is and how CEO incorporates it into its mission: Economic development may be defined as efforts that seek to improve the economic well-being and quality of life for a community by creating and/or retaining jobs and supporting or growing incomes and tax bases.
CEO works with local communities to identify gaps in development and to implement programming to make our towns and the people who live here more successful. Our growth strategy includes collaboration with existing businesses and nonprofit agencies. We understand that when we work together and utilize each other's strengths and people power, it will move our local communities ahead a great deal faster.
If you are a local business looking for innovative ways to increase business or are struggling with staffing or branding issues, we are here to help
Martha's vineyard, ma
The Vineyard is our home and the future of our year-round and small business community is a priority. We encourage community members, small businesses and nonprofits who share in this mission to work with us to achieve these goals. In addition, we believe that seeking collaborations and networking opportunities off of the Island is also important for year-round income streams. Our partnerships on Cape Cod provide Islanders with additional networks to tap into.
Falmouth is our mainland sister. When Islanders step foot off the Island, they will most likely enter Falmouth first. When Islanders find themselves no longer being able to find housing or can no longer afford to live there, they usually look to our mainland sister as their new home. With the help of our newly formed CEO Cape Cod Committee, we work to identify economic development gaps and challenges and bring our programs and services "across the bridge".
